ROBERTO PORTILLO TOGNO – OF COUNSEL

Roberto Portillo Togno’s practice has centered on commercial law, art law, and intellectual property law. He is involved in due diligence and litigation, with extensive experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, including sales agreements, representation agreements, consignment agreements, loan agreements, licensing agreements, financing agreements, and commercial leases. He has represented clients in disputes related to authenticity, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of warranty, defamation, breach of contract, copyright infringement, trademark cancellations, and commercial leases.

In addition, Roberto has represented clients pro bono in matters ranging from cancer patients, children of undocumented parents, and health care workers in COVID-19 related matters.

Before practicing law, Roberto was a professional photographer and imaging technology consultant for art industry clients.

Roberto holds a JD equivalent degree from Mexico City’s Universidad Iberoamericana and an LL.M in Intellectual Property and Information Technology from Fordham University School of Law.

Roberto is admitted to practice law in New York (2012) and Mexico (2003) and is native bilingual in Spanish and English.
